Flash the Photoshop Expert

Many years ago my brother Flash hired a girl who was a credentialed Photoshop expert to help in his business HQ Secure Internet Development (my webmaster, ahem). As time went by he found himself spending more and more time showing her how to use Photoshop. It was at that point he realized he was the Photoshop expert in the business. “Think of the money I saved not taking any of those highfalutin classes” he quipped.

Today I sent over a photo of my dig Sierra that I had taken with my iPhone’s camera. Can you believe how great the iPhone is and how crappy its photos are! That notwithstanding, here is what I received back from Flash Bro:

Kern River Again 2011

Our annual trek to the Kern River was another great success. This one was filled with adventure as well. The trip up saw us face to face with wild fires in the area. Our Class A motorhome was buffeted by Class A winds, luckily they were blowing the fire ‘away’ from our rig. Randy was white knuckled and I was freaking out when I got “No Cell Service” instead of our good friends and fishing/camping buddies Rick and Cindy on the phone.

As luck happened, the road closure to our camp area was lifted after only an hour of waiting and the good times ensued.

Carpinteria State Beach Park

We’ve made another successful pilgrimage to Carpinteria; hauled our fifth wheel and were lucky to get a spot in San Miguel with hookups. My brother Flash Buddy and his wonderful family, Jan Baby, Zac, Max & Molly the dog are in attendance with a borrowed tent trailer as is my father, Frank Alexander, staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Six days of fun in the sun; and it is sunny!

We zipped north to Santa Barbara for an evening concert in the park. Hapa was happening. While the musicians were obviously talented, most people were there for the social scene.

Next schedule event is the scattering of my mom’s ashes at sea. Flash and Jan’s windsurfing buddies from the eighties, Karen and Garrett Osgood, are taking us out on their boat to perform the ceremony. I’ve got Mom in a box and am ready for this chapter.

Foggy Rafting on the Kern River

Had a wonderful weekend of the Kern River. Along with my dad, our good camping buddies Rick and Cindy we enjoyed Baja Fogs, fishing, rafting (we rafted from the shore vicariously) and more Baja Fogs.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd – Australia

Whole world Needs A Leader Like This! Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.. Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques.
