OMG! Flying Flags Again

My pals and I are making another pilgrimage to Bueltons’ Flying Flags RV Park and Campground. While, environmentally it is not the most stunning spot, it nonetheless is one of the more popular trips for our Road Runners RV group.

I remember back when; my nephews Zac and Max spent a weekend with us. They had journeyed down from Cambria, that storybook seaside community further north on the coast. Zac was just learning to ride a bike and he took full advantage of the uncrowded campground. He road up and down every row! When he was finished, he and his brother Max cooled off in the clubhouse pool.

If you make it out, be sure to stop by my rig for a Baja Fog!

Carpinteria State Beach Park

Jan and Robin 2010 We’ve made another successful pilgrimage to Carpinteria; hauled our fifth wheel and were lucky to get a spot in San Miguel with hookups. My brother Flash Buddy and his wonderful family, Jan Baby, Zac, Max & Molly the dog are in attendance with a borrowed tent trailer as is my father, Frank Alexander, staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Six days of fun in the sun; and it is sunny!

We zipped north to Santa Barbara for an evening concert in the park. Hapa was happening. While the musicians were obviously talented, most people were there for the social scene.

Next schedule event is the scattering of my mom’s ashes at sea. Flash and Jan’s windsurfing buddies from the eighties, Karen and Garrett Osgood, are taking us out on their boat to perform the ceremony. I’ve got Mom in a box and am ready for this chapter.

Foggy Rafting on the Kern River

Foggy Rafting on the Kern RiverHad a wonderful weekend of the Kern River. Along with my dad, our good camping buddies Rick and Cindy we enjoyed Baja Fogs, fishing, rafting (we rafted from the shore vicariously) and more Baja Fogs.

Enjoy the Video!

Have FlipCam ~ Will Travel

In anticipation of a camping adventure along the Kern river, my brother Flash Buddy mailed me his Flip MinoHD. What a great toy. I was up and running without instructions and completed my first clip; “Randy Washing the Trailer” immediately. I used the Flip’s built in software to upload the clip to FlipShare:

I didn’t know it came with instructions. Flash Buddy pointed out they were hiding under the tray in the box. I poked my finger in the little hole and pulled up the tray and there they were!

One Thing Leads to Another

It was suggested by my bro to setup a YouTube account and share my video productions with the world. That didn’t go so good as one must have a Gmail account before they can have a YouTube account. I started setting up a Gmail account and got lost, frustrated and foiled. Flash Buddy bailed me out by setting up my account remotely. He went on to setup my YouTube too. Check it out!

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd – Australia

Kevin RuddWhole world Needs A Leader Like This! Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.. Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques.

Quote:

‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.’

‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom’

‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!’

‘Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’

‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.’

‘This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.’

‘If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.

Did I Mention Alaska

My very generous parents took my husband Randy and I on an adventerous tour of Alaska’s Inside Passage. We were spoiled aboard the Statendam cruise ship with gourmet food and non stop shipboard entertainment. Ports of call included Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, and Glacier Bay.

Check out my gallery for some photos of this wonderful memory.

Help Me Decide?!

I have this problem of raising my hand whenever there is a call for volunteers. This go-around I volunteered to create a t-shirt for our ‘Road Runners’ camping group. The following are two design ideas that i would love to have your input on!

Grandma and GrandpaRandy (my loving husband) and I recently enjoyed a fab Caribbean cruise. Additionally we took time out from our busy schedules to visit with our respective parents. Lucky for us they are closely situated; Randy’s frogs (read ‘parents’) live in San Marcos in San Diego county where my frogs live in La Jolla.

While visiting Mom and Dad Alexander we got to visit with my amazing brother who had arrived from Fort Collins (can’t believe he moved his family there). Flash Buddy pulled out his camera and I pulled out mine and we had a shoot-out. He chose the Canon while I use a Sony. Check out the Alexander/Jacobson album in my gallery for the fruits of our labor.
